Week 3: Brought to you by the letter ______
Inspiration: Go to Flickr and type in "letter R" or any letter you pick. Just make sure you have the word "letter" before it. You can do the same thing at Google Images.
Yes i am a child of Sesame Street. I guess my love of letters started there. Each day they would say that the program was brought to you by the letter ___. My love of letters continues to grow. I love seeing all the different art with just a letter. And the different fonts. I love seeing letters stacked up one against each other. I love Pottery Barn catalogs with random letters on the wall. There is just something so artsy, so comforting about letters.

My supplies this week include leftover chipboard letters, heavy gel OR a gluestick, Popsicle stick, paint, clear embossing powder, & sandpaper. I do love the heavy Gel medium. Its really really thick paste that is like frosting to spread. But if you don't have it, don't worry. I am going to show you how to cheat!

Chances are if you don't have the Heavy Gel, you do have a gluestick. So take a popsicle stick and scrap some off of the gluestick. Smear it all over your ATC making textures & leaving it uneven. It takes a bit to get it to smooth out a bit but keep playing around with it. Have your letters ready to go!

Smoosh those letters into the glue meaning push them down into it so they have some of the glue around them. You can add one or you can pile them on.

Let it dry for a bit. Sand the letters a little bit so they will take paint better. Next i added in some water-down acrylics. After apply a sloppy layer, i would wipe it with a cloth (or paper towel). I used a couple different colors and applied them to different areas. Again i wiped it down immediately after adding the paint.

After adding some pretty heavy white paint, i flicked on some teal drops. (See here on how to do
paint splatters). While the paint is still wet, shake some clear embossing powder over the card. Heat set the embossing powder.

The paint & the clear embossing powder bubble into this cool cool texture. It is so awesome. I discovered it by one of those happy little accidents from playing around. Both of these cards were made using that gluestick as my medium. Pretty cool!
I love love seeing your cards. Keep them coming!
