Love Love me Do + RAK #2 Winner

my new hair do that is.  You noticed my avatar changing.  Yes i got a hair cut...anywhere from 7 inches to 12 inches.  i have been wanting to make a change for a while.  it was just preparing the family for the big change. 

Last Wednesday i took the plunge.  i walked in, laid my photo on the table, and said cut it.  Michelle was flabbergasted.  i love it.  i have had short hair before.  it's been a while though.  Nearly 3 years or so.  it feels freeing even though it seems to take a bit more work.

Your Scrapbook stash + RAK winner

Hello Lovelies.

I wanted to show you my creations for Your Scrapbook Stash. 

 

Is she really 17?  Seems so crazy to think so.  Just yesterday she was this 6 lb little bitty baby in my arms.  Bits & Pieces of Basic Grey Olivia, Maya Road Tags, & Elle's Studio Tags.  Smooch painted butterflies on the background and then pink bakers twine stitched on top. 

 

Kayla knows i take lots of photos.  and every time i go to click one of her, i get a face.   I honestly should just do a layout of all of her goofy images.  Basic Grey Oliver line.  Smooch dots in the background.  

 

I love these handmade ceramic mugs.  I use them for tea only and they bring me such joy.  it is the little things in live.  Basic Grey Olivia.  You can never go wrong with polka dots.  Some spray ink & paint in the background.

 

I had Andy tell me the good & bad things about being a pilot.  I could write it from my perspective (and probably will) but i do want his story.  He took this picture in Durango i believe.  Painty splatters on the background.  His story takes center stage.  Outlined some of the letters to add interest to the title...as well as staggering it between the journaling.  Painted the AC letters with Smooch...love how easy it was!

 

Maya Road Envelopes turned into a mini album.  It was so much fun to play & create with each envelope individual & then bring them together.  It is for Lexi, a record of her best friends.  She still needs to add something into the envelopes or i might ask them some questions to record.

The color room Palette #21.  Seriously beautiful color combination.  Have you had a chance to play with us?  Come on over & join in on the fun & push your color palette!

Can you tell how much fun i had with the painty layers.  Soft pale pink with some German Glass thrown in (thanks KL).  Bubble wrap stamping with some mists.  Touches of the orangy -reds.  I love how feminine this layout turned out.

and a little of that.  I love my little vintage dessert cup.  It sits on my desk right in front of me.  i keep it filled with bits & pieces of love....like vintage milk caps, letters, bobbins, etc.  The other two buckets i found at Target for $1.  Dear Target...I love you.  Into these i also put bits & baubles of vintage goods & left over scrap supplies.  I see it, i use it.  Its why i keep them in front of me.  Plus seeing all these goodies makes me happy.  A happy Ronda is a good Ronda.

In the Library

I love clue.  I love my house.  So how do the two go together?  Well i always wanted a library.  Out of all the rooms in clue, dude, it was always the library.  So with this house we decided we didn't need a formal living/sitting room.  I wanted a library.  I painted it a while ago a deep chocolate.  I put up a chandelier that i just love.  And we put in there some older bookshelves we had.  They work but they don't have a lot of personality.  So when Andy & Papa Phil asked what project is next, i said the library. 

 

As with most of our furniture projects, i designed it, sketched it out and Andy used google sketchup to recreate it.  I cannot wait for this library to be done.  It is the first room in the house.  It is the room i go & sit in when i want down time.  I have some ideas on furniture to complete the room.

 

I so want this chair...two of them actually.  But a)Pottery Barn doesn't carry them anymore. B)i wouldn't pay that much for them anyway.  But now that i have seen it...it's all i can think about.  I have some time to decorate that room and i am sure i will find something i love.  I won't settle.  Not for that room.

Is it wrong to use a french title on a swedish post?

So very honored to be asked to do some assignments for Scrapbooking M. M., a very cool Swedish magazine.  I love to play, create, and push myself. 

This assignment was using an electronic die-cut machine.  I embossed my own paper using some die-cut circles and am embossing tool.  Then cut a bunch of leaves from the studio calico paper, scattered & stitched them on the page.  I made the little open banner too from die-cuts. 

This little altered art piece is intended for Jessi.  I used the die-cuts as stencils for this canvas.  I loved those dandelion like die-cuts.  I first stamped the white cardstock and then cut them out. 

Can i say how happy i was to see this on the cover?  This was an assignment using someone photos & story.  ahhh bears, did i ever tell you how one tried to break into my old house?  Yep a smart bear.  So i could understand the fear & fascination with this story.

Sketch Assignment.  I really enjoyed our Alaskan cruise.  it was more about natural beauty & wildlife more than about the ports.  I was in awe every moment.

Previous Sketch Assignment.  This is lexi's nickname since she was a baby.  The original sketch was 6 x 12.  I turned it into a 12 x 12 by adding some layers behind the white  6 x 12.
