Heading off to CHA. Hooking up with Christine at the Denver airport & then heading to Los Angeles together. I am so excited to go see all the new products and to see all my friends who usually just live in my computer. I am sure i will be taking lots of pictures.

So very excited to start this class at the end of the month with Karen Russell. i had the pleasure of meeting her in Greece and even better i got to watch her teach. She has endless patience and explains everything in such rich detail. i know enough to be dangerous with my camera but i want to know more. And she's going to teach me....along with my fellow classmates.
this year i finally upgraded my camera. i had been toting a second generation Canon Rebel XT that i had since 2006. it is a great camera but i knew i was ready for more. i thought i was going to buy a 7d but ended up with the 60D. i love this camera and all of its features. So i am ready to jump into Karen's class and dig deeper as a photographer.
one of those days.
it's very late and i should be asleep. I have so much on my mind lately and know i haven't taken much time for myself lately. The big neon sign in my head keeps flashing "Self Care before Self Destruct." The problem is i keep thinking who is going to get all this stuff done if i stop to do something non list related. Add into that mix one wife who is longing for her husband & one mother trying to be everywhere for her kids.
so...
how to rectifiy these feelings. prioritize. i think that maybe the key. If some things are down the list and don't get completed will the world end? probably not. Tell people no and not feel guilty. That's a battle i am starting to gain some ground on. Baby steps right? Make a list & dump it from my head. There's a big one. Instead of keeping it all bottled up in my mind i need to just sit down & write out the lists. Break out the calendar & actually make a plan. i even think there is some cool tool called a "daily planner."
but for now, i think sleep may be the best answer. Start fresh tomorrow. Make a list, tackle the list, and don't beat myself up for not completing everything. Oh and add me to the list, near the top.

Not only do i speak movie quotes. I am fluent in Friends speak. I miss Friends but still find that it is an important part of my vocabulary. i am happy when i catch a rerun or two and can never change the channel. I have to stop & watch. It was right before guitar lessons and he was anxious to get there early to get his guitar restrung. In looking at this photo, i see so many things...

I have been keeping this under wraps for a while and i just want to explode. I cannot tell you much at this point even though i am sure you want to know more. F&W media is publishing my book and i am so thrilled to be working with them again. I am smack dab in the middle of some deadlines. Perfect timing with CHA (Craft & Hobby Association) Winter Trade Show. Not. But it will all work out, i mean sleep is overrated anyway.
I have been extremely busy already and sending out lots of emails. My list of sponsors so far is just incredible and i cannot believe my good fortune. More Bibliophile love...
I had never tried Indian food until i was 35. I always thought it was too spicy even though i never tasted it. Andy's finally convinced me to try some while we were in England a few years ago. We went to dinner early and had the restuarant in Stratford pretty much to ourselves. We told the wait staff that i have never tried Indian food and asked them for recommendations. It was the best thing we could have done...so delicious. Since then, i have been hooked.
So last night i decided to attempt making it at home. It was a good first attempted at crock pot korma. It smelled really good but I think some of the spices were too overpowering. I will keep trying to get it just right. Below is my tweaked recipe that i will make next time.
i coated the chicken with 1/2 Cup yogurt, all the spices, & tomato sauce and placed it in the crock pot. I let it cook for 6 - 7 hours on slow. In the last 30 minutes i added the rest of the yogurt & heavy cream.
