The picture was taken on Lexi's 18th birthday while in Greece. I loved all it represented so much i couldn't wait to scrap it. She is so much like us in so many ways yet her own beautiful self. I use the October kit with the awesome honeycomb stamp and the very cool apple stamp from Apple pie (by the way one is left in the store, grab it before it's gone).
I so wanted to repeat the honeycomb so i could stitch it. I love the way it turned out with the hexagons filled with bits of patterned papers and stitches. The apple really doesn't fall from the tree because my inspiration came from my mom.
My mom showed me this quilt she is in the midst of making a while ago. It was so beautiful with all those hand stitches. She always hand stitches her quilts. So when the October kit came up, i suggested & sketch the honeycomb stamp. Kim executed it beautifully like she always does. When i created my layout i brought in my mom's gift of quilting to my layouts. Thank you mom for sharing your gifts with me.
