One of the things i love about this industry, this hobby, this art is how it brings people across the globe together. How we can find inspiration across the world and bridge our cultural gaps, make new friends, and learn from each other. Even though we live in so many different places and speak so many different languages, we are united by art.
I love to blog hopping and finding this inspiration, seeing other peoples approach to scrapbooking & mixed media art. I want to share (with their permission of course) people i find along the way.
United By Art #8: Susana Tavares
Country: Portugal
I met Susana while teaching in Spain. She was teaching workshops opposite me on both days. She is such a lovely warm person who really touched my heart and encourage me to artsy play once again. She was teaching some fabulous workshops including one on drawing faces. I used to draw a lot but haven't picked up a pencil in quite a long time. Susana graciously taught us about her faces and showed us her methods to her beautiful works of art. We would teach all day and then come back to Ellen's to play a bit more. We just couldn't help ourselves. Susana radiates warmth, strength, love, and balance. She is reminded me of some very important things and said just what i needed at those moments. It was such a joy & pleasure to be around her and i hope one day you get to take one of her workshops. In the meantime, make sure you check out her blog to see some AMAZING works of art. She is truly a mixed media artist making all kinds of cool art including canvases, jewelry, dolls, etc. She also has an etsy store where she sells her pieces if you are so inclined! Here are a few of her amazing pieces.
