Today's post over at the Lily Bee blog is about mixing old products with new. I love this focus since we all have older product that we just love. Mixing old products with new ones is easy to do with a few simple ideas in mind. Look for a common thread when mixing products...color, theme, style.
In the above layout it is color that brings this story together. I picked a flower patterned paper from a fall line, a classic orange patterned from a couture line, a print from a stationary line, and a polka dot green from a basic line. The common thread is the color story and they all play a part in my desert theme. I updated the older chipboard flowers by adding in some new layers of patterned paper, more chipboard, resin flowers, and some leaf pins all while keeping in mind of the color. I used flag stickers from different sticker sheets and outlined them all with a brown pin. I used the baker's twine to bring them all together.
I love this kind of challenge. It's permission to go digging through your supplies and use something that has been in your stash for a while. Find those beloved items and put them to use with some of your new stash.
