Welcome to the Crafter's workshop/Balzer Designs Blog hop. I am so excited to be part of this blog hop because i do truly love the Crafter's Workshop & their stencils and so love Julie, my wickedly talented friend. If you haven't jumped into stencils yet, now is the time. So many creative ideas on this blog hop you will sure to be inspired. So let's get started!
Today's hop features the Pointy Circles Stencil. I was so excited to play with this stencil that i used it in a couple ways. I love playing around and seeing what crafty endeavor lies just around the corner.
This first piece is on a wooden canvas. I love texture so i used the stencil to create lots of it. You can see i used the stencil first on the background. I used a variety of mediums including paint, watercolor crayons, and spray ink. Next i used the stencils to create the flower & leaf petals. I painted them with Maya Road Sunflower mist and some orange paint. The leafs are a combination of Maya Road Lime Metallic and Fern Green. I printed the quote on old book paper.
Next i decided to do a little art journal page in this watercolor journal. These pointy circles are show horizontal but the beauty of Julie's stencils is you can change the direction which inspired this art journal page. I decided to make the drips of color flow in the same direction as the stencil. I used the stencil to trim out some pieces of paper and glued them onto some of the texture. The hearts and journaling were the finishing touches.
