Just yesterday i showed you my trio of tags. People often ask what to do with all the tags you create. Here's one of the many ideas i have for you. Take 3 individual tags and turn them into a gift card of sorts for someone. The front can stand up as a piece of art while the back holds a gift card and message for that special someone. Tie them all together with ribbon or bakers twine either at the top or around the middle of the tag before giving it away. Here's a quick look at how to create a trio base.
Supplies:
- at least 3 tags
- Paper Tape, Washi Tape, or Fabric Tape.
- Brayer
- Matte Medium or strong glue (optional)
Emboss three tags like i did on this video using the stencil. Grab some paper tape or washi tape or fabric tape. any of the three will work or you can combine them for a cool random look.
Lay the tags side by side. Start just below the corner cuts where the two tags meet. Wrap it around the back side and cut the tape when you reach the top of the backside. I used two different paper tapes to add to the effect.
The brayer is your friend. So many uses for a brayer. It really helps smoothing out the tape. Sometimes the tape doesn't want to stick. No problem, just add a little matte medium (or strong glue) under and smooth it out. It will stay put then!
Carefully bend the tags accordion style. Now you have this beautiful base to create with until your heart is content! Now you can lay them down flat and work on all three at once or you can fold them and work on them individually. Don't forget the back side. Make it pretty too!
