I have to admit i feel strangely comfortable this go around. I am more relaxed. It's a shift in my worries and expectations. This adaptability, i feel, comes from being blessed with lots of travels. You get a sense of the world around you and it has allowed me to adapt, explore, and enjoy it. While i haven't tackled driving here yet or going out without Andrew, we have explored a bit of the apartment, villa, townhouse compound he lives in. It has restaurants, a dry cleaners, small grocery store, and a coffee shop here. It is hot during the day and we have learned times to venture out and times to stay indoors. When it's windy out, the sky hangs with dust. Almost everyone speaks English and the signs are in English too. While i haven't decifered any of the language, it is so beautifully written. Menus sometimes come with appetizers in the back and desserts up front. Sounds just about right to me ;). Numbers are easier to decifer as they are on the money and cars i see around town. Lots of SUV and all terrain vehicles here but it make sense given the desert land. The sun here seems bigger. Maybe because there isn't a ton of buildings blocking its spectacular view. Here's a look at some shots from around town. Click on any photo to enlarge it.
