So very honored to be this month's guest designer at JBS Mercantile. Jenni & Jared are some of the sweetest people in the industry. Seriously wonderful people. I can say the same about their staff & incredibly talented design team. It's so easy and comfortable to be around all of them so when I was asked to guest design, of course i said yes! I was so inspired by the kit i have lots to share with you. I am breaking them up into two blog posts. Today is all about the layouts.
Not Really but Really is a tribute to "grandma Stephenson" who passed away years ago. Chrissi (on the right) and I (on the left) loved being with her when she came to visit. She was a remarkable woman and i have many fond memories of her as a small child. I used lots of the artisan kit to complete this page including the 7 gypsies Album frame that encloses my photo.
1 on 1 is about our time with Anthony in Doha, Qatar. We really got in some quality time with him. I am so loving that hexagon stencil found in the main kit along with all those vintage pin tags. I wanted to hoard them but they begged me to re-purpose them ;) Love the little phrases on the Cosmo Cricket paper, especially "Te Amo."
Instagram love is my love for graphic whimsy. Those circles were begging to be filled with random bits & pieces. I had leftover flair from the mini album kit & the artisan kit that were perfect for this page. I downloaded Instagram photos from my cellphone and printed them out in small squares. I then punch out the circles in two different sizes. Mistable butterflies, buttons, and labels were added to the other circles. I needed a pop of color so i made my own stencil and painted in some Maya Road Mist. Lastly i colored the stickers black and added it to my layout.
I told you i couldn't stop creating or using that hexagon stencil! On "All Mine" i used the stencil to trace out some hexagon as well as a guide for some stitched ones. I had this photo of my craftroom on my desk for a while. When i saw the flair, i knew it would be perfect with this kit. I have another project to share with you but it will keep!
