Dreams & Fears. They seem to go hand in hand. In order to chase down your dreams, you have to let go of those fears. That first step can be the scariest too. You know what you want. You can feel that tug but then you start the "what if's" and you start to back off. I say we drop the what if's and say why not. There's a line in Awolnation's Kill your Heroes song that i just love
"never let your fear decide your fate."
it's ok to have those fears but don't let them stand in the way of your dreams & goals. I have been chasing down some dreams of late. Lots of them to be exact. It's been exciting, hard work, surreal, time consuming, tiring, & rewarding! I'll share more details later.
as for this tag, it was made using one of Ranger's new black #10 tag. I layered on some gesso and then pushed in the Sizzix Retro Circle Texture Fade. I love the texture it adds into the background. It's so cool to use those fades in a different way. Next i added some layers of distress inks and distress stains. I then sprinkled on some UTTE (Ultra thick embossing powder). It added a really cool effect. I then stamped on the tag using using the gridlock texture fade and archival black ink.
I used the Fanciful Flights die-cut as the focal point on this tag. I cut both pieces out of black cardstock. I also cut a background wing out of wonder tape to add to the cardstock. Ranger's dry glitter was the perfect sparkle for the wings so i sprinkled it onto the wonder tape. I painted the top layer of the wing with a silver Adirondack metallic paint dauber. Lastly i added the stamped words in strips around the tag. I love the pops of colors on this tag. I wish you could feel the texture too.
