This cute little mini titled Summer Eats was a creation for a guest design spot with Kenner Road Kits years ago. I also did a step by step tutorial for their blog. Today i am bringing it home to my blog. Enjoy!
Summer time. Kids playing in the sprinklers, no set schedule, fun family activities, and yummy summer eats. This little mini is a cool way to keep my favorite summer time recipes.
Take the Bingo Card and cut in half. This one is a vintage one included in the kit. You can find these at flea markets, antique malls, or even online.
Cut two pieces of each Pattern Paper approximately 3.5 by 5. I have 12 sheets here for 6 pockets.
Punch a half circle out of the top of one of the pattern papers, then using a needle, paper piercer, or push pin, make holes down the sides of some of your pattern paper.
Using Black thread, stitched together the two sheets of pattern papers. I used the blanket stitch. Here’s a great tutorial with step by step photos to create the blanket stitch.
Cut strips of leftover pieces of thick pattern paper or Cardstock approximately 1.5 by 3. Fold them in half to make a long V. These will become your supports for the accordion style album.
Using a strong adhesive, mount two of the pockets together.
I wanted my title to stand out a bit more on the bingo card, so I painted the American Crafts Thickers with some watered down yellow acrylic paint.
Cut the inside strips out of the cream bling cardstock. I cut mine about 3 x 5. I punched some borders out of left over pattern paper and stitched them to the top. Now you have cards for your recipes and a little accordion album to record your favorite recipes.
