The hubby made it home on Tuesday thanks to many prayers and open seating on his flights. We are celebrating not only Labor day, the closing of the summer season, but also time with him. Alexi is home for the long weekend and we have been hanging together as a family. Today we are going to a BBQ with his family so they can spend some quality time with all of us but especially Andrew. Before we hit the party, we will be exploring Alexi's campus a bit more with her.
Friday night we had date night with one of our favorite couples. Sushi night is always good along with lots of laughter and a chance to dress up and be an adult, mostly. I love that we make it a point to have date nights when he is home. It would be easy to do all the household chores, just hang with the kiddos and put us on the back burner. But we conscious make an effort to take time for us. It's important and we need this time together.
Truth be told i am ready for the fall season. Autumn is my favorite time of year. It may or may not have to do with the fashion aspect, especially boots & scarves. I am longing for crisp mornings and chilly nights. I think we are going to go on a hike next weekend and take in the fall foliage. The aspens are a stunning yellow this time of year!
but until then, i think we will just sit back and enjoy this time with family & friends. And maybe have a slice or two of cinnamon & sugar grilled pineapple slices.
