So honored to be this month's guest designer for Basic Grey. Today i am sharing my layout titled My Favorite Milkcan. Julie is such an amazing person who always brings words of wisdom & laughter. I love that she knows who she is and lives boldly. I am truly honored to call her friend. These photos are from her visit to Denver last winter with her favorite traveling companion, Eileen her mom. I adore these shots i got of her, they make me giggle every time.
On this layout i want you to note the texture in the background i created using her stencil called herringbone. I used a couple different distress inks, layering in the color to give it some depth. I also sprinkled in some black paint splatters for a bit more texture. You can also create texture by popping it up! To highlight elements on your page, simply add pop up adhesives or curl the edges.
On this layout, I wanted the middle picture to stand out so I framed it with patterned paper and popped it up to become the focal picture. I adored the “I like her sticker.” It was a perfect match for my story so I popped it up as well. When layering all the elements together, I curled some of the sticker elements and patterned papers. Lastly I popped up the number paper layers with more dimensional adhesive. I love the textures and depths it creates on a page.
As for my favorite Milkcan and the rest of those in the path of Sandy, my thoughts & prayers go out to you & your families. I hope you are safe, sending you lots of love.
