Color seems to be one of the biggest struggles for those creating. Deciding which colors to use can be overwhelming. Free yourself from those stress by going Monochromatic. Monochromatic is of, pertaining to, or having tones of one color in addition to the ground hue. In other words use one color. In the above art journal piece i am using Green. I used various spray inks plus some stamped images in various greens.
Pick a color. Any color. Or why not try out all colors. Here i am using paints & spray inks. Grab some stickers, patterned paper, images, etc in your color.
Just splash some color down on your page. Play around until you get a design you like. Finger painting is always fun. Too much color? add some black or white. White & Black are neutrals and are always allowed.
Monochromatic pieces can look so stellar. Become familiar with your colors by just playing around with them. See what emotions they bring once they are on a page. Document it with a simple phrase.
Here's another monochromatic piece i did earlier this year. For more details on "Moments in Time" check out this blog post.
