So very excited, pleased, and just plain giddy to announce that I have a new line of stencils with The Crafter's Workshop. I am joining the ranks of licensed designers Julie Fei-Fan Balzer & Dina Wakley along with Jaime Echt (owner & chief designer). My new line will be available at CHA Winter 2013 Tradeshow at The Crafter's Workshop Booth. Over the next couple weeks i will be sharing with you all my designs. Today we are starting with Kaleidoscope (TCW 347).
If you could have seen me opening up the box of stencils upon arrival, you would know i work very hard at keeping my title as Mayor of Dorkapolis. I couldn't stop spraying everything. The above tags are a look at the 12 x 12 stencil. The first tag is me spraying mists through the stencil. The second tag is stamping with the stencil once it was covered with spray.
The 6 x 6 stencil is ever so adorable with its petite pattern. Again on the left is Spray Paint through the stencil and on the right is mist sprayed on the stencil, then stamped.
Of course i couldn't wait to try out my gelli arts gelatin plates with my stencils. Heavenly. It's taken all my strength not to just sit & make monoprints.
Of course after the basic spraying, i couldn't help but to layer on color. Spray Paints, Mists, Paint.
This layout actually came from my first pass at spraying this 12x12 stencil. I had to see it rich with color. And then the layout just fell into place. This picture has been sitting on my desk for a long time (note the short haircut) waiting for the right moment.
These two tags were made with the 6 x 6 stencil. The one on the left is layers of Spray Paint. I added sprinkles of black paint, stamped images, and paint drips. The one on the right is a gelatin print tag. I did a couple tags and cut up the green one to create the Christmas tree.
This art journal page uses both stencil sizes. On the background of the page is 12 x 12 using gesso to create texture. The tag is another monoprint tag using a gelli arts gelatin plate and the 6 x 6 stencil.
So which sample strikes your fancy?
