A couple years ago I started reviewing my favorite layouts of that year. It has been a great way to reflect on my style and how it's changed, on what i accomplished, and also helps me fine tune my direction for the upcoming here.
so here are my favorites of 2012
in no particular order
what i love: I love the color explosion on the background, Neocolor II on the background. Simplicity too.
what i love: Painted background, letting go and just being free on the page. it also helps that's it is my hubby in uniform
what i love: Using my own stencil on a layout, the color explosion yet it's relatively simple.
what i love: white space. layers of embellishments without feeling cluttered. stacked titles in two fonts. must do that again.
what i love: tons of embellishments without feeling cluttered. routine life, simply documented. color.
what i love: zipper trim & stitching. simple color scheme. splatters.
what i love: two tone stencil technique, simple layers using sheet music. stitching.
what i love: tone on tone texture. layers of love & color but still lots of white space. journaling in an unusual way.
what i love: simplicity. layers of color. polaroids.
what i love: lots of stencils without feeling heavy. journaling as design. color. photo love.
what i see in looking back: I like using neutral backgrounds, especially cream. it allows the color to pop off the page. i think splatters will always appear on my pages. i love yellow & aqua paired together. really love it. i like to play with journaling as a design element. stencils are my friends. bright color junkie. i like embellishments.
