"JUMP into the middle of things, get your hands dirty, fall flat on your face, and then reach for the stars." Ben Stein
I love that quote from Ben (anyone?, anyone?) Stein. i love how there doesn't have to be a starting point. How many times have i (or you) said i want to do that but i don't know where to begin. [insert ridiculously larger # here]. so let's forget about the beginning and just jump into the middle. it isn't about knowing all the answers ahead of time; it's about figuring things out as we go. to get dirty (or inky), to fall flat on our face, to be told no, to make mistakes and move forward, and to keep finding new paths.
Today's word up over at OLW is JUMP brought to you by the lovely Revlie. I love this unconventional word up. It caused me to dig a little deeper which is always good. Make sure you check out the other designer's take on this challenge!
This page was created while playing around with spray paints. Remember this post about it? Well this page sat in my journal for a while. I knew it wasn't complete and something was off for me. I couldn't put my finger on it.
And then i created my "let go" art journal page discovering my need for a little more white. That struck a chord for the above page so i broke out my white paint again. I have to tell you how freeing it is to let go and not stress about creating. The touches of white & black (did you notice my subway stencil on the page?) really add to that page without taking away my love of color.
This is me.....
