I know i didn't get to walk the floor as much as i wanted. There were things i missed and things i wanted to see. I think next time i will go in with an agenda instead of loose ideas. I do like seeing what's new out there and what fits into my art. I always love looking at displays, new products, and creations. Here are some of my favorite items from the show in no particular order.
Princeton Catalyst. These rubber spatulas are heat resistant up to 475 F (246 C) and have multiple uses for a mixed media artist. From encaustic, gelatin prints, paint, gesso, modeling paste, to even food prep. The tops pop off and go into the dishwasher top rack. Check out this video to see more about it. Texture me HAPPY.
Ranger Distress Paints. Same colors as we have come to know & love. They react with water to create some cool effects. These paints move when they are wet, just like the distress inks. But once they are dry, they set. A cool combination in one paint. You can check this Video from Tim Holtz to learn more.
Jillibean Soup Alphabeans. I love lots of things from Jillibean Soup. Irish Farm House soup, the new corrugated shapes, wise words, chilled cucumber soup, etc etc etc. But if you made me pick just one item, it would have to be the collection of alphabeans.
Maya Road Embellishments. I know i work for Maya Road but there lots of reasons why. I love Maya Road products. It was hard to narrow this down but i selected three of my favorites. Two are photography related, are you surprised? Me neither. But the You've been Framed Wood pieces and the Say Cheese chipboard pieces are just so adorable. The butterfly always holds a special place in my heart and these filigree butterflies are so beautiful. Bend the wings to make them take flight!
Tim Holtz Ideology: Remnant Rubs & Ring Fastners. I have always been a fan of Tim Holtz's Ideology line. Color me happy when he scooped up Paula Cheney. Paula is one of the sweetest and extremely talented artist/designer in the business. Her creations & products leave me breathless. (Check out the blog One Lucky Day/2 Gypsy Girls to see her works) Two of my favorite things she showed me in the Tim Holtz Ideology booth are the Remnant Rubs & Ring Fasteners. I am a champion of the rub-ons. They are the underdogs of this little world of ours but can do so much for any creation. And those ring fasteners are just so darn cute. I cannot wait to get my hands on them!
The Crafter's Workshop Stencils. Not just mine but i do really adore all TCW stencils. I have many of their stencils and will have many more. I love all you can do with a stencil, paper, fabric, mixed media, scrapbooking, art. I will let you know as soon as you can find them online. You can also ask your local stores to carry them. In the meantime, you can look here to find where TCW stencils are carried.
Glitz Designs: Roller Stamps. I still have a number & grid stamp from long ago. The ones with the pink handles. In all my purging, these stay on the shelve. So imagine my excitement when i saw these beauties sitting on the shelves at the Glitz booth. I want them all. They are so easy to roll a design onto your creations. I think i would start with camera, arrows, or chevrons.
