It all begins with a surprise (and a grainy but loved photo)...
i journeyed home from CHA. In true form, i was exhausted. At CHA you are always on & always working from wake to sleep. i totally love it but at the end of the week....exhaustion.
Alexi picked Emily & i up at the airport. We dropped off Emily and then headed home. i knew i had to take a nap. My body was pleading with me. So after a few phone calls to family, i went & got into bed. Sleep came quickly but only a short while later i heard my bedroom door open. Mommy ears are always on alert. i thought to myself someone was in for grumpy mommy for waking me only after a half hour of sleep.
i was only vaguely aware of someone coming to my side of the bed due to wanting to go back to sleep. My mind freaked a bit when i felt the covers lifting off of me and someone sliding next to me. Such an odd behavior from Alexi. i quickly flipped to see Andrew's face coming at me. You may be wondering, did i cry with excitement? Did I smile from ear to ear? Did i hug him and say i am so glad you're home?
Nope.
i believe my sleepy words were "What are YOU doing here?"
it's been so good to have him home. i cannot even begin to tell you how happy i am with him around. i walk on sunshine. A week later and he was supposed to be heading home. i am thrilled to say that his return to Doha has been delayed. We aren't sure how long he does get to stay but every last moment will be treasured. We are blessed.
