#4. Stop putting your own needs on the back burner. – The most painful thing is losing yourself in the process of loving someone too much, and forgetting that you are special too. Yes, help others; but help yourself too. If there was ever a moment to follow your passion and do something that matters to you, that moment is now.
My sister-in-law Kari P (i have two SIL named Kari ;) and i sat down for tea one day. i love sitting down with her to bounce ideas and think about things in both our lives. It's always an uplifting conversation that gives me new perspective on things. We got to talking about this LifeBuzz article titled "30 Things to Stop Doing to Yourself" and how so many things we could recognize in ourselves. i am sure once you read the list you too will find many things you identify with your own life.
For me the one that stands out is #4. It is something that i tend to do. i love helping others but what often happens is that i put myself on the backburner and then burn myself out. I have to remind myself that it is "Self Care or Self Destruct" and "It's Self Care, not Selfish." i just found that quotation from Audre Lorde and i completely love it.
