Alexi has grown up so fast. This year she will be a senior at Colorado State University. While in college, she decided she needed something crafty to occupy her downtime. Something that didn't require too much thought but would be fun. Insert Nail Art. She loves pinterest like me and started a board called "Nailed it." Alexi started collecting colored nail polish and bought a 20 piece Nail Art Tool Kit that includes brushes & dotters. i thought i would share with you today some of the spring/summer nail art she's painted.
i think this set may be my favorite. i love the eclectic patterns, the mixture of polka dots with the stripes. i never would have put these colors together but just love the mint, black, & gold. The feather is amazing, simply amazing.
These cheetah nails are all hand painted, no stencil. She first painted the base and then went back with a small brush to create the design. They look fantastic.
Her abstract nails remind me of Hans Hoffman. The white base is perfect to let those paint splotches really pop. i like how each nail is just a little bit different.
Alexi loves purple so it's no surprise to me to see her purple & gold nails. i really love the one gold nail and the chevron nail with the "plain" purple nails. This grouping really makes those gold nails stand out.
i don't know where she gets her rainbow compulsion from but i heartily approve. ROY-G-BIV looks great in polka dots. i love how she has grouped warm colored and cool colored polka dots on different nails.
Her nails make me want to try on a style or two this summer. Which one strikes your fancy?
