Heartstrings Mini Canvas

Tugging on my heart is this Heartstrings mini canvas.  This little canvas measures 4 x 4 in size.  I recently purchased a whole stack of them not knowing what i was going to do with them but they were just too cute not to have in my stash.  I have been playing around with some new The Crafter's Workshop stencils as well.  I used the 6x6 Aspen Trees on this canvas masking out the heart shape.  I colored the canvas with Caran d'ache Neocolor II watercolor crayons.  The yellow heart was some scrap paper i had lying on my desk.  I colored it with some watercolor crayons and Maya Mist (Dragon Fruit Pink). The purple heart is a really cool product called Shimmer Sheetz.  I used a Sizzix Texture Fade (Rays & Retro Circle Set) and then cut out the heart.  The string is vintage variegated thread.  I admit i am a bit obsessed with thread lately.  I had so much fun putting this piece together.  It's been great just playing around and seeing where it leads me.
